The Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems Fellowships are for recent grads in the STEM fields, for grad students in the STEM fields, for MBA students, and for marketing grads. This is a great program for students who want a year or two off before grad school, or who want to go into sustainable energy systems work.

This year, Amway has partnered with UNCF to establish the Amway Scholars Program. The program is open to rising sophomores and juniors. Recipients will receive funding for the 2012/13 academic year as well as an opportunity to apply for an internship opportunity at Amway in 2013.

Avis Budget Group – 2012 Summer Internship Program

Avis Budget Group Summer Internship is a paid internship program that is hosted at the Avis Budget Group (ABG) corporate headquarters in Parsippany, NJ as well as Virginia Beach sites. The Avis Budget Group Summer program is a paid internship that will start in late May and will run approximately 10-12 weeks.

Interested applicants must be enrolled full-time at a Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The selected 2012 Avis Budget Group (ABG) fellows will participate in a 10-12 week summer internship. Interns must be available to work full-time throughout the entire length of the internship program. During the program, interns will be provided with a challenging, educational and rewarding experience that includes but not limited to assisting in the day to day operations of the assigned department, working on department projects, attending development workshops and “lunch n learns” with senior leadership team and participating in company sponsored/team building events. Each student will be paired with a mentor to enhance his or her personal and professional development. Upon successful completion of the internship, interns will receive a $5,000 need based scholarship award.

FOR THE VIRGINIA BEACH SITE, IT IS PREFERRED THAT THE APPLICANT IS PURSUING A DEGREE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE AS THE INTERNSHIP WILL BE HOSTED BY THE PROCESSING CENTER, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT.

Interns will be responsible for their transportation and housing arrangements.

PPIA Program

The PPIA (Public Policy and International Affairs Program) is held at several colleges of public policy and international affairs throughout the country, including: University of Michigan, University of Maryland, UC-Berkley, Carnegie Mellon, and Princeton. At these institutes, students study public policy through courses such as: economic, statistics, policy modules, and writing. Students are also provided with GRE prep courses, as well as exposure to faculty at the different universities. The program provides students with housing as well as a stipend. The program also provides students with a minimum of $5,000 toward graduate school tuition

Yale Pre-MBA Leadership Program

Due: March 29  

The Pre-MBA Leadership Program is tailored toward current sophomore and junior undergraduate students from underrepresented backgrounds and those from non-traditional pre-MBA academic tracks. We strongly encourage students from the liberal arts, science and engineering fields to apply.

All applicants must demonstrate strong leadership potential and a commitment to diversity and inclusion in school and in the workplace. Competitive applicants will also show their interest in exploring the possibilities of MBA study.

This is a two week summer program aimed at giving students the leadership tools necessary for pursuing an MBA degree and business career.
